The Legend of Pinya ( Pineapple )

0 12

Aling Rosa was a widow. She has a ten-year-old daughter, Pinang. Aling Rosa loved her son very much. She wants the child to grow up in housekeeping. He teaches Pinang in chores.

Because of her only child, Pinang did not always argue that she already knew to do whatever her mother taught her. Her mother just abandoned her.

One day Aling Rosa became ill. He couldn't get up and do housework. Pinang was forced to do housework. Her mother ordered her to cook porridge. Pinang took some handfuls of rice, put it in the pot and mixed with water. He set it on fire. He left the cooking and played. Because of this neglect, the bottom of the porch is formed and adheres to the pot. Aling Rosa just apologized. Somehow he was served by Pinang.

The old woman stayed in bed for several days. Pinang was the one who was forced to make

chores. One day, while preparing the meal, Pinang could not find the soup. She approached her mother and asked. Mother was angry at Pinang's question.

"Oh, I wish you had a lot of eyes so you can see everything and never ask a question!"

Because the mother was angry, Pinang could not hold back. He left to look for the scab. At night, Aling Rosa was worried before the son returned. She insisted on getting up to eat. She called the child but no one was coming to her.

One morning, Aling Rosa was cleaning the yard when she saw a kind of plant growing in the basement of their house. She didn't know what kind of plant it was. He took it out and planted it in his garden. Such a plant grows and soon produces it. Aling Rosa was surprised at the appearance of the fruit. It is a human head surrounded by eyes.

Aling Rosa suddenly remembered the last time she told the missing child that she would have many eyes to see what she had been looking for. Aling Rosa sobbed silently. It was then that he realized that what he had said had taken a toll on Pinang. However, Aling Rosa took good care of the plant and called it Pinang in memory of her son. This fruit was later called Pinya.
