At the time when the Philippines was still occupied by the Spaniards, a married couple lived at the foot of the mountain of San Mateo, Rizal. Marriages are difficult but they are kind, hardworking, helpful, and godly. During their long marriage they did not have children at all. Yet they are happy in their lives and are helped to the past just as they are suffering, and to the sick. Children in their area treat them like real children as they continue to hope that someday they will have their own children.

Because of their kindness, patience, and faith, Bathala also sympathized with them and heard their prayer for their own children. They were finally blessed with a healthy baby boy. In addition, Bathala also blessed the baby with the extraordinary strength and elegance of the faith and kindness that his parents displayed.

Bernardo had been shown only a remarkable amount of strength and elegance. Only a few weeks after his birth, he was able to fall down and crawl alone so that he could almost fall down the stairs of their little cottage but was met by a castle priest who was visiting their place to teach Christianity .

At the suggestion of the castle priest who admired the strength and elegance of the baby, he was named Bernardo Carpio by his parents. His name was given to Bernardo de Carpio, a brave, famous, handsome, and legendary warrior in Spain.

As he grew older, Bernardo's extraordinary strength became even more spectacular. For more than a year he has been able to pull out the nails on their floor as he plays. And when the father accompanies him on the hunt, it seems as though Bernardo is pulling down some trees to make way for the dense forests of San Mateo.

Like his parents Bernardo grew up kind, helpful, and courageous. Once on his way through the jungle, he saw a horse that had fallen off a cliff and fell off. Bernardo immediately went down the cliff to rescue and help the horse. It was as if nothing had been lifted and he took the horse to the precipice and brought it to his house for treatment and care.

In his care, Bernardo's share of energy flowed from his hands and into the horse which caused him to recover quickly and began to show extraordinary strength and speed. Because of the great strength and speed of the horse he called Hagibis and from there Bernardo and Hagibis were always traveling together in the mountains of San Mateo.

Meanwhile, the Spaniards' oppression and repression of the rights and freedoms of the Filipinos have steadily increased. Even if the Filipinos endured, there was a time when they would no longer accept the oppression of foreigners. The men began to convene and form groups in the quest to fight for the rights and freedoms of the Filipinos. Because of his extraordinary strength and patriotism, Bernardo was chosen to lead the impending rebellion against the Spaniards.

When the impending revolution of the Filipinos came to their senses, and when they found out that Bernardo was the oppressive leader, the Spaniards were deeply concerned. Because of the extraordinary strength and courage they possess, they know that it will be difficult to overcome any rebellion and will likely succeed.

Because of his strong leadership and extraordinary strength, the Spaniards were concerned about what Bernardo could do to make the spy against the invaders successful. Because of this, the Spaniards made a trap. They allegedly invited Bernardo to a meeting to allegedly listen to the grievances of the Filipinos but it was only a trap to help a fairy get stuck in the rock and not be able to lead the revolution.
