Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble, says Job. How true! Trouble, contrary to what we like to believe is not peculiar to people living in poverty or "third world country" whatever that means. Regardless of your race or the color of your skin, religion, gender, status, educational qualification, and so on, you cannot live in this terrestrial ball for too long without knowing the meaning of trouble. It comes in different forms to different people. Sometimes, it could take the form of economic downturn, depression, perplexity, confusion, persecution, bereavement, the list is quite long. As such a time, you have the feeling of your back being against the wall. Have you being there yet? If not, my guess is, you have not being here for too long! seriously!
What do you do when your back is against the wall?
So, what do you do when your back is against the wall? I don't remember who it was that said, life is ten percent what happened to you and ninety percent what you do about it. I agree in toto. In other words, it is not what happened that matter but what you do about what happened. At the risk of repeating myself, what do you do when your back is against the wall? Here are a few suggestions, I trust will help you:
Purpose and Focus
Mankind is a creature of purpose. We long for meaning and no rational being can bear the torment that come with meaningless existence. We are a spiritual being regardless of what we choose to believe. An essential component of our spirituality is the fact that we have eternal purpose. A discovery of this purpose will keep a man or woman through any form of trouble. So, if you are going through any hard time, focus on the purpose of your life, perhaps, your suffering is working for you an eternal purpose.
The prerequisite of forgiveness
More often than not, our suffering are caused by our choices. The earlier we realized that, the better. We might choose to blame so and so and this and that! The truth is, sometimes our pain are self-induced. If you realize you have erred, ask for forgiveness from God and from man, if you have to! It could be that you also have to let go off resentment. It will surprise you how many people are angry at faceless people. They don't even know who they are angry with. We must let go our bitterness to enjoy sweetness.
Profiting from the faithful
There are others who have gone through the same thing you are going through now and they were faithful. Learn from them.
I hope this suggestions are helpful to you! Bye for now
