Many world famous people like Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana have worn clothes designed by Chanel. Chanel pioneered not only the little black dress, but also the men's cut girls' suit. Apart from this, he made it a trend for women to wear pants as a fashion.
Although known as Coco, her real name is Gabrielle Chanel. He was born in 1883 in a poor family in Saumur, France. Mother's death when she was only 12 years old. Later he got a place in an orphanage. There he acquired skill in sewing. She became known as 'Coco' while working as a singer in a cafe.
While singing, Chanel met a rich man named Etienne Balsan. Through Etienne, this dreamy young woman came in contact with the elite class of society. At this time he met Etienne's friend Arthur Capel Boy. Boy was a skilled horseman. Love developed from the acquaintance of the two.
At one point Boy-Chanel decided to trade hats in Paris. Coco opened a hat shop in 1910 with Boy's help. After a few years, he started a boutique shop. From there he opened his own fashion house. Within a few years, Chanel began to innovate in clothing design.
In 1919, the boy died in an accident on his way to meet Chanel. Life does not stop at someone's death. Coco Chanel didn't stop either. In the 1920s, his name spread in the fashion arena. His fame quickly spread beyond the borders of Europe to America.
Coco's designed clothing as well as handbags and jewelry became very popular. And the world famous perfume 'Chanel Five' is spreading all over the world. He made a difference by writing the brand name in black ink on the perfume bottle and white label in geometric shapes.
During World War II, Chanel's fashion house was closed due to espionage charges. In view of this, Chanel lived in exile in Switzerland from 1945 to 1954. Later, this French fashion designer returned to his beloved Paris.
