1910 - Mother Teresa, Nobel Peace Prize-winning humanitarian activist.
In 1950, he established a service organization called 'Missionaries of Charity' in Calcutta. For over 45 years, he has served the poor, the sick, the orphans, and the dying. He has also worked tirelessly for the development of Missionaries of Charity. His missionary activities spread first in India and later all over the world. On 18 October 1969, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his services and in 1980, India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna. He died on 5 September 1997.
