To hell with Passion. Realistically, Now We Need Money

.One of the characters closest to our generation is the tendency to glorify passion. In fact, sometimes passion is considered everything. We believe that money is not a guarantee, chasing dreams is a must. Failure is not determined by whether you are well established or not. Instead, failing is getting stuck in a work cubicle and doing the same things every day.

I'm done. I prefer to resign and pursue my passion. Before you think about leaving what you already have, try thinking a second time. This rising need of life demands that we be realistic. Because passion is not necessarily the answer to the bills that must be paid. Before you keep complaining because you feel like you fail because you can't work according to your passion, it's better to consider these things first.

1. Whatever your job, tired and bored are common. You will also feel the same way when doing what you love

Passion is a very confusing thing. When you hear the words of famous motivators, it all seems easy. You just need to find what you like, something that you are willing to do over and over again without getting bored. But in fact, many people don't know what their true passion is. Something that he considers a passion, can become boring and depressing at times if you keep working on it.

So can it still be called a passion? Since finding your passion isn't easy, and you don't even have a clue what you want to do, why give up on uncertainty? Even though life is uncertain, if what exists today is worth living, why should it stop here?

2. Think about it. Quitting work just to be silent thinking about your passion, what will you get?

Passion becomes a dream when you are stuck at work. Doing something that you don't think you should do. Then you feel bored and depressed. In your mind, you can do a lot more than this out there. Or it could be that you think that there are things out there that you should be doing. Reluctant to be shackled in a boring job, you write a resign letter and decide to quit your job. But it turns out that looking for your passion out there is not as easy as you think. While living in the world clearly costs money. Then you will become unemployed and return to burden your parents. You used to be stressed because of work, now you are stressed because you don't have a job. Which do you think is better?

3. No work is wasted. You will still learn many things there

Want to grow and maximize the potential that you have, is the reason you often use to justify pursuing your passion. That excuse is not wrong. If you are in the right place, you can become someone who develops to the maximum, because the development of a person's potential is also influenced by the environment. But that doesn't mean you can't get anything if you work in a place that doesn't match your passion. One or two things you can definitely get, for example, skills in communicating with people, skills in making reports, working with others, building good teamwork, and responsibility for the work at hand. Unless you really work carelessly, there are many benefits that you get from whatever your job is, beyond your monthly salary.

4. Youth is a time when many opportunities come. Chasing dreams does not have to sacrifice everything, including necessity

Young age is the right time to pursue your dreams. Right now, with dependents that you don't have, you should be able to explore yourself and look for what you want. At this age you will have many opportunities. You can switch careers without a burden. Why rush to determine what you are living right now is not your passion? Because you are young, there is no harm in getting knowledge from anywhere and from whatever you find. Not only fixated on a passion or in a field that is suitable for a bachelor's degree, you can get lessons from whatever you do. Dreams must be pursued. But there is a strategy that must be devised. You don't have to sacrifice everything, because life is full of needs. 5. The fact that you are able to live independently and no longer burden your parents, isn't that something to be grateful for?

It's true you don't like your current job. Not according to your passion, and not according to the field you worked on during college. Every day you live it halfheartedly, because you have been lazy to think about work since you started opening your eyes. Your salary may not be much either. Unlike your other friends who can go wild, your income is only enough to pay for your daily life. But while you complain about this and that, have you ever thought about your other friends who are still trying so hard to get jobs? At least, when you wake up you already know what you're going to do that day, while they wake up wondering when to get a job interview. Even though it doesn't match your interests and preferences, at least you are already working and are no longer a burden on your parents.

6. Doing something you like is necessary. But remember, everything requires sacrifice. And everyone knows life costs money

Dreams must be high, so that your enthusiasm is always motivated to achieve them. Doing something you like is necessary to reduce the risk of torturous stress. But being realistic is also necessary, so that you don't get stuck in your dreams forever. What are you doing right now is not meaningless. There are many ways to pursue your dreams. It could be that what you are living right now is one way. Just like when we head to a place we've never been to. There are times when you are confused about which direction to go, sometimes you have to stop to ask for directions, and there are times when you have to turn because of the wrong way. But why not just enjoy it? After all, there is a process. 7. Being mature is a matter of staying dedicated to doing what we don't like. One of them is working in a place that doesn't match your passion

As you get older, you will know that life is not only about what you like and what you don't like. There are times when you have to put your ego aside, and learn to like what you have agreed on. Now is your journey to real adulthood. Becoming an adult is not only knowing how to pursue your goals, but also learning to be dedicated to something, even if you don't fully like it. Working in a place that is not according to your passion is one way to mentally forge. Because life is not always in line with what you planned. Complaining constantly will not lead you to success either. Passion is important, but not everything. Dreams are the beginning of everything, but dreams must be realistic to apply in the real world. To be successful, you don't have to follow the passion you have. Besides that passion is sometimes confusing, the most important thing is a sense of dedication to work. Because without dedication, boredom and reluctance to continue it will still come even though you have worked in your dream place. Life can't be just flat, right? Just be realistic. That money is not everything, but everything needs money. Now you feel pressured because of work that is not in your field. Think about the people out there who are also depressed because they have nowhere else to go to find work. You certainly know which one to choose 🙂
