On June 17, 2021, the workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Pakistan Awami Tehreek along with their heirs are celebrating the 7th death anniversary of the martyrs of Model Town. It is almost 7 years but the heirs of our other brothers including Tanzeela Amjad Shaheed and Shazia Murtaza Shaheed have not received justice. It has been repeated many times that former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Mian Saqib Nisar had called Bismillah Amjad, daughter of Tanzeela Amjad Shaheed, at the Lahore Registry and laid his hands on her head and said, Interpret your mother's dream. It is our job to do justice. Almost two years have passed since the former Chief Justice's commitment, but no progress has been made towards justice. The commitment of the head of an organization is in fact the commitment of the whole organization. Surprisingly, this commitment was not fulfilled by this highly authoritative and respected institution. After this commitment of the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, there was hope that the victims would get justice, but unfortunately this hope did not materialize and on June 17, 2014, the heirs of the martyrs of Model Town were given justice. They were standing in the same position today. There has been no progress on justice. It is important to mention here that from the day of June 17, 2014 till today, the heirs of the martyrs of Model Town have been demanding the right to an impartial inquiry which is not being granted. It is astonishing that a soul of the country's history, Farsa Sani, in which 14 innocent people were bathed in blood in front of the media camera in broad daylight.
After all, what is the obstacle in the way of exposing their killers according to the legal process? Why is an impartial inquiry not being allowed? Who is afraid of being exposed? We believe that the then Prime Minister and today's notorious criminal Mian Nawaz Sharif and his younger brother Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who was then the Chief Minister of Punjab, had prepared a bloody plot for the Model Town tragedy. Which was later completed by the then IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera and the then Punjab Law Minister Rana Shaullah along with dozens of his puppet police officers. The only motive behind the Model Town tragedy was that He said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri should be stopped from waging political struggle against the system of oppression in Pakistan. Even today, the heirs of the martyrs of Model Town have the same demand that an impartial investigation into the Model Town tragedy be completed and its report be submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore. In December 2019, before a larger bench of the Supreme Court, it was decided to re-investigate the Model Town tragedy, to which the heirs expressed satisfaction. With this decision, the esteemed judges of the Supreme Court told Shaykh-ul-Islam that an impartial inquiry The demand was accepted and all attention should be given to the legal struggle. Alhamdulillah, the promise not to protest on the floor of the court is still kept today, but in terms of the delivery of justice, the promise made by the highest judge of this country's highest court to the oppressed daughter Bismillah Amjad It was not implemented.
