"If it doesn't open, it's not your door"
It is a story of many of us. More than just a thought, that I wanted to pen. May be because this is the same question many asked so many times as I heard. At few situations to others but again and again to oneself. "Am I good enough?" and "Do you really think I can do that?".
Mind is a very powerful thing when it acts. It can either break you, to make you weak and vulnerable. The way you think and overthink decides the out come of your efforts. The thoughts may cuts you off from connecting with your possitive energy or they can make you stronger, powerfull and confident to face every situation.
Is being weak or feeling low sometimes is a bad thing ?. Do you think that achieving so much and being confident or let's say it as over confident about your talent, strength is good. To be successful and to be that one good person not even for others but for yourself, your thoughts are the main reason.
I witnessed some situations where a person who never talked much, not so confident enough, who faced a series of failures, Humiliations blossoms into an extraordinarily successful person. They prepare themselves to be brave, they decided to come out of the box, to explore because they thought, they can. They never lose their identity or personality. Those people never changed themselves for society or to please anyone. They just break out their fear to achieve what they wanted.
well, everyone knows "The hardest roads often leads to the most beautiful destinations". The sweetness of the success always awaits on the other side of our comfort zone. Everyone knows at least one story of success which is gained by a person after passing heaps of hurdles. Still we scare to take chances and to walk on that path.
I am not only telling to those people who have limited themselves in their comfort zone to come out but also to those people who have all the confidence, communication skill, courage but still struggling somewhere to reach that goal, just to tune a little bit in the way of your thinking.
There are few stories which stands in this line, where people struggled because of their over thinking too. There is a Strange but a True story.
The story of a master magician.
The legend has it. Harry Houdini, the master magician in the world. He ones claimed that he could break out of any jail cell in the world. All he had to do is walk into the jail cell with his street clothes on. He was much confident about his skills and himself.
He quoted, "I will be out of the jail cell, in one hour. No problem".
After hearing his claim, a very old jail in Down South allowed him to show his trick and accepted his challenge.
On the day of the event there were hundreds of people gathered and waited outside the jail to witness the master magician's trick.
Houdini walked into the jail very confidently and into the cell and they shut the huge metal doors behind him. The first thing Houdini did is he took off his coat and then strangely he took off his belt where he secretly hidden 10 inch steel stripe very strong and very flexible.
With the help of that steel stripe Houdini started to try to open the cell lock. He tried and tried and tried for more than half an hour. Eventually he started to lose his confidence. The charm he had when he walked into the cell then got vanished. He lost his patience, he got angry and exhausted.
After trying for a long time he failed and collapsed near the cell door. For his surprise the door got opened a second after he collapsed on the floor. was that his trick? No. The truth is they never locked the door. The door has never been locked. It was opened all the time.
The door was locked only in Houdini's mind. He thought that the door was locked and he was focused and putting all his effort and skills in just unlocking the door which he never checked locked or not. Houdini just imagined the lock as the world's best blacksmith put that lock on that door.
That is the power of mind. Our mind knows to play many tricks. It can even decieve you, if you are not able to control it. Like Houdini we also have so many doors unlocked in our mind which we think are locked. We got stuck in so many situations not because of lack of thinking but is because of over thinking. we prison ourselves for a problem to which we have a very simple solution.
Our mind has powerful hold on us. It will lie to us, it says you can't do that. you are not meant for that. you are not good enough for that. You can't go on anymore. you don't have energy.
All you have to do is to learn, that to appreciate our minds opinion and carry on. As Harry Houdini showed us the lock that exists for every problem is our mind.
