Seema was an acid attack victim. When her mother asked what exactly happened. She had to say. But the irony is, even she doesn't know what exactly happened. She doesn't know why she was attacked. She doesn't know what she did to deserve this. She doesn't know if her life will be the same anymore. She doesn't know that saying "NO" is a sin. She doesn't know that she has no right to make choices for herself, whom to love and whom to not. She doesn't know a small acid bottle can cause so much pain, so much so that she craved for death. She thought at least death can relieve her from this unendurable pain for once and for all. She doesn't know that all it takes is just a single moment. But much before she realized, everything had already happened. Her dreams, her goals, her life everything had shattered right in front of her eyes ... She cried in pain. For her, the pain is not just physical, because eventually she got used to it, but what hurt her more is the way society reacted to it. She doesn't know, that one day even her loved ones will leave her. She doesn't know, that even her dearest friends can become complete strangers. She does not know that acid attack victims are supposed to stay indoors, spending rest of their lives like prisoners who committed unforgivable sins. t least that's what society and people told her. She doesn't know that one day she'll be afraid to see herself in the mirror. She does not know that face and body defines the identity of a person. And most importantly, she doesn't even know if all this was real. Deep down, she wished it was just a dream, a dream from which she desperately wanted to wake up. Yet, she realized it wasn't. She suffered. She was hurt. Yet she endured it, all alone. She complained. She grieved. But later she realized, it was all in vain. Finally, she decided to speak up. She stopped blaming herself and the people around her. She stopped questioning herself coz she understood it's not gonna help. She emerged from the darkness embracing her difference. She was now done with trying to figure out why did it happen to her. She was done with the fear and validation of the society. She was done with all the suffering and misery. She decided to battle her fears, becoming the best version of herself. She decided that she'll no longer cover her face realizing she never did anything wrong. She decided that she's not going to put her happiness in someone else's hands, realizing, at the end of the day only she has the power to change her life. Embracing her scars, she stood strong ... her head held high with courage and pride. The man who tried to destroy her was unaware that he couldn't put off the fire in her. The moment she accepted herself marked the new beginning of her life. Because now, she's no more a victim. She is "THE SURVIVOR"

I am not a victim,

I am a survivor

The man who attacked me ....

will cover his face,

I WON'T "

Really it's a heart touching story. Keep writing more like that,,,,

He shared a really great story with us. I got to know a lot of unknown things. We should not neglect these people at all. They are human beings like us. We also need to be by their side. A really educational post. Thank you so much for sharing such a post with us.❤️
