One Foggy Afternoon

0 6

It's the time of the year when rain starts to be a part of our afternoons; from drizzles to heavy rains, from a short rain to a longer one. Here in Baguio City, up north in the Philippines, there are parts of the city that are foggy more often than some.

One afternoon, I came out of the house and saw such a beautiful sight. Where I live, pine trees surround the area. The place I live is built on a mountain.

The air was cool that day and felt fresh to my lungs. It was so wonderful to breathe that fresh air without my mask on. I miss those times when I can smell the pine needles in the morning or smell the cool crisp of dried leaves. With closed eyes I breathed in the air and open my eyes to a marvelous sight.

Fog was everywhere. It felt mysterious. It felt like living on the clouds or looked like we are in heaven. The fog was just right. It was not so heavy where one could barely see anything but fog. It was a picturesque sight to behold. Also, it stayed like that for a little while. I remember when we were kids how we enjoyed blowing into the wind and felt like we were blowing some smoke; but in reality it was just blowing some fog around. Our ears and noses are cold and we start to rub our palms together. Fog reminds me of this simple joy. It also reminds me that I live in one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines. It reminds me of warm and fuzzy feelings where I would enjoy a cup of hot cocoa or coffee, snuggle up in a blanket and watch TV.

Guess it's what we get since we live on the mountains. :)
