Mahmudullah Riyad has been dropped from the Sri Lanka series. The final decision is today.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is going to announce the preliminary squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka this afternoon. Russell Domingo, the head coach of the Bangladesh national team, has already arrived in the country. Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan Papon will meet the head coach this (Tuesday) afternoon.

But the meeting is going to be more important with Mahmudullah Riyadh. Bangladesh T20 captain Mahmudullah Riyad is out of the Test squad. He was dropped from the team due to his performance. However, a few days ago there was a rumor that Mahmudullah Riyadh is going to get another chance.

But Mahmudullah Riyadh is yet to be confirmed in the preliminary squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka. The cricket board is conducting a thorough study on Mahmudullah. One side wants to consider Riyadh only for limited overs cricket. So board president Nazmul Hasan Papon himself may make the final decision on Tuesday, subject to discussions with head coach Russell Domingo.
