Occupy Wallstreet 2.0
If I don't write anything today to reflect on what happened yesterday and today and save it on blockchain for future reference, there is no point for me to keep blogging on Hive.
I don't believe in stock market anymore.I may use it to take profits from markets up and down but I cannot rely on it to save my retirement fund. I have been always edgy to believe in crypto assets like Bitcoin to be my hedge against the inflation. Almost everyone in the cryptospace have been shouting out loud to believe in this asset and not believe in the establishments. I have my doubts over Bitcoin due to the obvious reasons. It's a new asset, nobody knows what will happen to its future given the regulations that will be developed to govern in.
However, things are pretty clear after the Robinhood debacle that there is no point in believing in stock-market anymore. The ups and downs of the market are manual manipulation to save the interest of the ultra-rich and wallstreet clubs. One wrong move where the common-men other than the hedge fund managers with high-network won the game of stock-market and the rules changed.
Why we should always be in the mercy of the market makers? Why not use the power of knowledge that we have to take part in the financial system in whatever capacity you are capable of.
It is crystal clear for me why we need financial decentralization. Now, it is dawning on me what it means to own your assets. It is pretty clear why you need to own your keys and assets and be responsible with it when you own crypto assets.
I vividly remember the Occupy wall-street demonstrations after the market crash of 2008. The wallstreet banks were saved by the goverment even when they were the culprit to bring the market down. Millions of average Joes lost their job, had to give up their houses and forced to make compromises impacting the generations to come. The average people paid the price of the decisions big bank did. The occupy wall-street was a toothless movement that did not change a thing.
The revolution 2.0 led by the r/wallstreetbets changed the way game played for the first time in the human history. The establishment tasted what it feels like when others manipulate the market. They have been doing it for years. Hope this is the tooth we were looking for. Hope this will open eyes and shed light on the millions of mischiefs happening in the market by the market makers and the few corrupt powerfuls.
The retaliation is amazing and it feels liberating. The system needs to change.
