Victory day means the day of success that a nation has own in a battle against the the oppressors. The war of our liberation commenced Om 26, March 1971 and we achieved victory on the 16th December of the same year. Every year the people of Bangladesh celebrate the 16th December as the victory day. This day is celebrated because on this day Bangladesh emerged as an independent state and the barbarous pak army surrendered to the Allied Forces of Bangladesh. Our valiant sons includinga number of armed forces joint the Independence war. During the 9 months log war we lost thousands of innocent lives including women and childrens. At the the off hug blood we own the victory. We celebrate the day with great enthusiasm and solemnity. The day begins with gun shots. The whole country wears a festive look. The national flag is hoisted the top of every house and office building. Special prayers in mosques and temples are offered. Special foods are supplied in hospitals and prisons. On the day, remember the story of our independence in various discussion meeting. We pay glowing tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our independence on the day.
