People's prompting about being more outgoing, more social started when I was young. I was an introverted child. For example, we used to sit by the sea with my uncle and watch the sea for minutes without moving. They still tell. It seems very different to people that a child can spend so much time with his inner world. Now I see that spending time in my own inner world, introversion has never been a concern of the people around me, even though it was never something I was concerned about.
Actually this is the case for many people. Sometimes parents even take their children to a psychologist just because of introversion. Perhaps you too have too many difficulties to be introverted for this type of person; You may be mistaken as “introverts are too shy, asocial, insecure, lonely”. But unfortunately this is an illusion. But the environment makes such a direction that the person starts to think that he is lacking.
Jung tried to explain this situation about 100 years ago by dividing people into two groups. Introversion and extroversion. Of course, although the studies on personality types afterwards revealed that there were many more personality types, this approach of Jung was guiding.
The Difference of Being Introverted and Extroverted
Being Extroverted
First of all, the extroverted person focuses on the outside world and gets his energy from there. New neuroscience research says extroverts tend to direct their attention to people's faces. With socialization, there is a sudden increase in dopamine in their brains. So being social becomes attractive for them.
Being Introverted
Introverts find the inner world, the place of thinking and daydreaming, more interesting and creative. Spending time alone is actually like gathering energy for him. This is such a situation that sometimes don't be surprised if you notice someone with an introverted nature disappear. For them, disappearing is never a wasted time. Introverts, don't feel guilty about being this way. Even share this need with those around you. You too may be collecting your energy this way.
The Behavior of Introverts
Introversion creates more blood flow in their brains than extroverts. Information processing is much more complex. Their brains work differently than extroverts in terms of planning and problem solving. They prefer to spend their time thinking about issues, dreaming and wandering in their minds. Actually, we can call them fantasies in the mind. Jung says that these fantasies in the mind are as powerful as facts.
For example, many works, novels, Oscar-winning films and inventions with unique architecture have been able to mature and come out with introversion by pushing the mental limits of the person. Moreover, we read from their biographies that many writers take long walks to write and discover their inner world.
Introversion actually allows you to really get in touch with yourself and nature, and actually the power of introversion has a great impact on people. For this reason, introverts, you should not be unfair to yourself.
