Helping someone doesn't mean giving money to someone, or helping someone cross the street (well, that also counts), but helping someone in your community, in your family, doing something positive in their life, whether with a prayer, a a positive thought for that person, who is a human being like you, will certainly do well for the person who receives it, and also for those who do the good deed. We are always looking for ways to make more money, or how to get the best car, or the best home. And when we stop and think. We are already at the end of life, and even if we have the material goals we wanted, what we take from that life, are the memories and legacy that we leave in people's hearts.
