Many of us do not notice the beauty caused by nature, at the same time ignoring the inherent beauty of its continued deterioration. But what if all of us noticed this? What can we do to address the existing environmental degradation? Whether you are a teacher, a student, or a professional. There is something we can do to slow down or at least alleviate the rapid changes around us that we now feel are simple or complex. I have laid out 10 simple ways to help our environment.

1) Plant many trees

Due to the increase in population and the increase in the daily needs of the people, it is more necessary to cut down more trees to be used for daily use. We need to plant a tree because it provides the oxygen our body needs to survive. It also helps to absorb water during a disaster or flood, it also provides ‘raw’ materials to make a product.

2) Do not waste paper.

Reducing the use of paper should be learned, based on the first method it is necessary to plant a tree because it is one of the sources of material to make paper. So if we use the paper in the right way we can be compassionate to reduce tree felling. Some ways here are to use the back of the paper, submit the project via the internet and much more.

3) ‘Recycle’ waste.

Every day we collect a lot of plastic, biomass waste, metal and more in our country. Waste causes of air, soil and water pollution that damage nature. We can easily reduce the amount of garbage piled up in our homes. These include making pot plants, making pencils and materials for making art, lanterns, and many other things that can be made of plastic.

4) Prohibition on the use of plastic bags

We all know that plastic does not melt quickly, it takes many years before it completely disappears. Plastic is also one of the most common waste found in land fills. Make it a habit to use paper bags when shopping or to bring your own container. And if unavoidable, it can be used again in shopping so as not to consume another plastic.

5) Be disciplined in waste disposal.

This is one of the wrongdoings that is currently happening, wrongdoing has become a disease for Filipinos. Flooding, polluting of water bodies, and rising are cases of pollution. These are some of the effects of dumping garbage in areas that should not be covered. Lack of storage is also the problem of a community, where those who have already collected garbage. It is not enough to deal with the increase in waste in a community. So let's just reduce our waste to just where we can think of.

6) Use a reusable drink.

We are used to buying water or juice in a bottle that is just a tool that produces more plastic waste. By using tumblers or drinks we can help at least reduce the production of plastics. You will also save more if you transfer water from refilling stations in the mall or at school.

7) Teach young people proper activities about nature.

I believe that there is still hope for young people, just give them a proper explanation they will better understand what is really going on in nature. While your children or students are young, we should make it a habit to show proper care for nature, as an older person it is our duty to guide them and show them the right ways to help mother nature.

8) Support projects that can save the environment.

Maybe some of you are thinking about how I can support projects? I am just a humble student. Many universities are promoting various projects that are connected to improving the environment. Your life status is not an obstacle to helping with the projects you will be participating in. We can do a lot even in a simple way.

9) Save on water and electricity usage.

This reminder is a bit scratched but we will repeat it, because these are two of the things that are used in our daily routine. Make sure to turn off appliances, lights, and water when not in use. Make it a habit to buy ‘energy efficient’ light bulbs rather than regular ones, you can save that you have even helped the environment. When washing, you can use a wash bucket instead of using an open faucet.

10) Don't be ashamed to start a change.

As a Filipino citizen we must know for ourselves when to start to change our habits. Let's be a role model for people who are afraid of change. Let us change for the betterment of our environment, which in turn benefits us. Let the next generations see the remaining beauty of nature.
