When you see an opportunity to claim free tokens and get a passive income, you think you are lucky. And this offer is active for a limited time before the supply runs out. You may not like to miss this opportunity. Wait. Where did you see this?

Hacking the reputed and popular X (Twitter) account becomes common these days. Now the latest victim is Blockchain Capital, a crypto-focused venture capital firm. The X account of Blockchain Capital has been compromised and multiple posts were made to promote fake tokens named BCAP.

Scammers' posts can easily draw people's attention. Scammers offered to earn true passive income and claim free tokens. The time is limited, only a day. Moreover, it can be over if the allocated token supply runs out fast. It gives a push to the potential victims to click the link and claim tokens fast.

Scammers set up a copycat website that looks similar to the venture capital firm Blockchain Capital's original website. Even the URL of the website looks like the same, only added additional n by scammers. Maybe you may not notice this at first glance.

The ultimate target of bad actors is to make people connect their crypto wallets to the fake copycat site. As soon as they connect their crypto wallet to the website, scammers will get access to drain their wallets. Victims will never make this mistake if they are aware of what actually they are doing.

When scammers make any posts on X like this, people usually make comment below the post and warns people about the scam. There is less chance people will fall for this. But in this attack, scammers turned off the comment option so that people may not warn others. It does not stop people from making awareness.

People warned others of this fake token scam and shared the post so that no one falls for this scam. When you see any post about any offer and see the comment option is disabled, I consider that a red flag. They must hide something or do not want something to be revealed. Say away from this as far as you can.

Recently the FBI warned of criminal actors' phishing attacks via compromising social media accounts. Attorney Jeremy Hogan is known for his positive stance on XRP. His X account was hacked and hackers promoted fake XRP giveaways. You know about how hackers hacked Uniswap founder Hayden Adams' X account to spread phishing links.

Watch out and protect your crypto assets.
