Honesty is an act that adheres to facts. It is a person's sincerety on his thoughts, actions and interraction. Of his being fair and straightforward. It is the basis in which person could be trusted be in any responsibilities whethet in politics, ordinary transaction, or business either small or big.
When it comes to court litigations a witnesses is swear to an oath, swearing to state the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, to ensure the witness honesty, his credibility to state on a certain facts towards an accused. A witness will be interrogated, undergo a cross and re-cross examination by both parties to dig out the truth, as to his honesty on a certain facts on the affidavit being executed.
A judge will not be hired if his credibility is tainted with a single doubt. His whole being must not be blemished with a single drop of dishonesty. That he being a judge must be impartial, fair and stand with truth in rendering resolutions and judgement. A fair treatment with both parties whoever they were in the society.
A police officer performing his duty according to the rules and regulations in captivating criminals, pushers and other lawless citizens, is an act of honesty, defending their oath of maintaining peace and order for the whole citizenry.
Teachers who are dedicated in their professions, honest in giving grades to their students, of being fair and considerate not withstanding the family background, the level of standing in the community. Thereby creating a good example to be followed, motivating the young generations to be good and be sincere in their studies.
Doctors and other medical practitioners who are honest in their diagnosis and procedures, prescribing the rigth and low cost medication to patients, for their foremost concern is preserving life thus, creating healthy people and having healthy environment.
If only honesty is always and be the first policy implemented for those who are handling the highest position of the land, those who governs our government, and the one who formulate policies and laws. Of having the rigth attitude and disposition in every regulations, then there will be no question and barriers of our nation's progress. A word corruption will not be heard in every news and in a bureaucracy. People will have a decent lives and criminalities will be lessen.
A corrupt man is viewed as a dishonest man, a man of having so many lies, ready and equipped with all alibies, of having a machinery of all lies. That before you can speak out for truth his sword with blades of lies cut short your facts and evidence.
The root cause of man's dishonesty is greed. Greed in power and fame. To be wealthy and look upon on a pedestal is the driving force of a man to take the wrong path, making him corrupt forgetting his oath for the welfare of the society. Being allured with great wealth illegally and to be wealthy in due time men tend forget the value of honesty.
We have observed today, the chaos in the lower house, on the conflicting issue of who will be the house speaker. An issue arises because of pride, of wanting to retain the position and other party's intention to take over the position. If only the intentions is honest disposition of duties and obligation each one of them will follow of what have been agreed before, the term sharing as speaker of the house.
So you will question. What is it to be a speaker in the lower? What are the privileges and power it has on a man that they fight with it, cling to it, take any possible actions and strategies to have it. Does honesty is still the policy when having that position, of being there in the highest seat of all congressman, the law making body?
Does policy of honesty still followed by many or became an old adage that being remembered and followed by few, and lived by those who have conscience and God in their daily life?
