Power outage, unplanned power production, and supply chain - An uncertain road we are taking.

We are facing a power outage for the past few days. The government announced a schedule for the country to cut of electricity because of the lack of current production. Sounds unbelievable, I know. But this is the reality for many Asian countries now.

Power outage/load shedding is nothing new here. But usually, the capital city and the major areas don't go out of electricity. Because of the high price of the gas in the global market, the government can't produce more and so can't distribute.

The specialists were saying this for decades, 'we should focus on alternative power production like solar power.' But no government took that seriously. Also, the unplanned distribution network made the situation worse. Millions of 'auto-rickshaws' are charging their batteries for the whole night all over the world. What a wastage of electricity.

This is the photo I took from my hometown a few months ago. There are millions of autorickshaws like what you are seeing in the photos available all over the country. I never liked this as a public vehicle. This is a high-risk vehicle for accidents too. And no need to explain how much electricity they are using every day.

I don't know how unplanned a system can be!

Also, the man-pulled rickshaws are now run with a mini motor that needs to be charged with electricity.

The government never think about creating real jobs/employment for millions of rickshaw pullers so they can shift their career.

Everything is messed up here. The unfortunate thing is, seems like there is no pro[er plan.

A temporary power cut is never a solution. The math is simple, if we can't afford to buy more gas to produce electricity then we must look for alternatives. That's where we are lacking.

And as I said, it's not just for us but a reality for many underdeveloped and developing countries.

An uncertain road we have taken. There is still time to make a proper plan so we don't have to see the worse. I wouldn't say the govt is not trying. But there should be many more positive signs if they listened earlier. In this heat wave, it's unbearable to live without electricity. Also, it's impacting production as well. I wish we could use this strong sunlight and reduce our dependability on traditional power sources.

Things must change for the better.

I guess solar power should be given more attention to accurately utilize the natural heat coming from the sun. Unlike burning coals to produce energy that creates hazards to our environment. Haist! I guess proper authorities concern has nothing to gain in the project if they focus to use the solar power.

That would be our first concern now. Unfortunately it's not happening soon. Solar power should be a first priority all over the world. But it will take down some power play of countries who hold coal, gas and other resources. I agree with you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Power outage is not funny, it use to make me feel bored and feel like the world is ending or something. Everything just halts and products cost gets high. It's an unpleasant experience.
