Ramadan Memories - Around the Table! It's been a month since Ramadan is over but the memories are still very fresh. I miss the family time, the moments we spent around the table. No need to say, a big part of Ramadan is about food. It brings sich a holy spirit when we spend time before breaking our fast during the afternoon, having all the foods in front of us but we wait for the time. We pray but before that we gossip. We all put our effort to prepare and plate the food.
Here is what our Ramadan dining looks like.
We usually prepare rice as our main dish and add different curry or side dishes to complement the rice. Also, fruit, juice, and desserts are mandatory.
Also, as it's a month of compassion, a prayer so we don't mind to fulfill special demands. Some like orange juice, some prefer watermelon; we prepare both.
One of my favorites is keema paratha, chicken shashlik, and fresh watermelon. A must during summer Ramadan.
Lastly, some desserts to fulfill the meal. We don't eat everything at once, so don't worry. We usually take a small portion of food at first, then go for prayer, after that we finish our meal. Sometimes I keep some food aside for my supper as well. Though it seems about food but you can guess, that it's more about family time and quality time. The gossip around the table, the happy faces seeing the food, and the wait to have all the delicious dishes worth every moment. All my memorable moments about Ramadan are sure around the dining table.
