Festive food 🍗🍚🍴

Festivals mean a lot of good food to me. I don't usually like to hang out much during big events. Yeah, an introvert; you got it right. That's the reason I prepare a lot of special, traditional food and enjoy it with my family.

Yesterday we have celebrated our biggest festival - Eid. This year we couldn't make it to our hometown, with our parents. We are living in the capital far away from our family. So we tried to make as many good memories as we can at our home. No need to say, food was a big part of it.

Let me share a pick of what I prepared yesterday.

Beef curry and polao (fragrant rice) are the two major dishes during any of our festivals, these two are a must during Eid also.

I made spicy 'beef rezala' and plain white polao with some other side dishes.

Then comes to my personal favorite 'roasted chicken curry'. I prepared two whole chickens as curry to enjoy for several days. Yeah, this is how crazy I'm about this dish.

Also, I prepared fried eggplant, cucumber salad, and chickpea curry as a side. We enjoyed it with some soft drinks.

During the evening, I made this 'Halim'. It's a traditional dish made with lentils, rice, meat, and a lot of spices. It's like a beef stew which I love a lot.

No festival feels like home without Vermicelli. It's also a traditional dessert with a lot of coconuts, curd, and sugar with Vermicelli.

Moreover, there was ice cream, chocolate, chips, and whatnot during the whole day!
