FDR spoke of 4 freedoms:
Freedom of speech
Freedom to worship
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear
There is, now in hindsight, all kinds of spin about these freedoms, such as by the politically-biased Wikipedia (which has to make everything a Democrat does sound marvelous).
The reality is this list was spoken of in 1941-- in the lead up to U.S. involvement in World War II. "Freedom from fear" was a direct call for war. Americans didn't deserve to live in fear; hence the U.S.A. would fight for freedom. Freedom from that fear.
"Freedom from want" that would become the hallmark of the Democratic Party for decades on. Expanding government as an economic security measure. Freedom from want led to welfare, Social Security and other government programs.
Today, Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "Four Freedoms" are recognized, remembered and posteritized at the Four Freedoms Park Conservancy in New York City (appropriately placed on Roosevelt Island), here. The Park was designed by architect Louis Kahn (story), designer of Bangladesh's National Parliament House, the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (photo).
The first 2 freedoms were direct from the Constitution. FDR essentially, for lack of a better word, invented the other two. We don't much mind "freedom from fear" these days; albeit Coronavirus and Covid paranoia of 2020 are providing for a possible comeback.
