Ignorance of what Bitcoin is

If you are reading me today, you probably know, as I do, that Bitcoin is a relatively recent invention and something that is technologically and economically highly disruptive, but unlike those of us who already know this and have dedicated ourselves to learning more about the crypto field, There are many people who still do not know what Bitcoin is.

Ignorance about what Bitcoin means

These people who still do not know what Bitcoin is, do not know what it basically means, and all the implications and advantages that it brings.

But do not get confused, it is not that they do not know about Bitcoin because they have never heard of it (as that would be impossible today, with so many social networks and pages talking about it), but that they do not understand what Bitcoin is in a deep level.

So that what I am trying to say is better understood, I am going to tell you what happened to me today. It turns out that a known person mentioned some things to me about Bitcoin, and among them, what made me see its complete ignorance on the cryptographic subject, was that its told me that Bitcoin had a physical representation...

Apparently his confusion came from two things fundamentally speaking, first of all, because it is totally unaware of what Bitcoin is at a programmatic level, it is unaware of the technology that supports it, and it is unaware of all that it implies at an economic level.

Second, the confusion that said person had was due to the fact that it had seen some physical Bitcoin coins being sold in a well-known marketplace.

A repeated explanation but neccesary

You will say: "Well, if the person did not understand, you should explain it to him..." And I completely agree, but the thing is that I had explained to it on many previous occasions what Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are, and still, said person remains in its ignorance and misknowledge on the subject...

Still, I had to explain to it again what Bitcoin is at a deep level, that it is based on blockchain technology, which has no physical representation, and that it is based on cryptographic technology, which has enormous advantages and implications in the world in general, among them the fact that governments cannot know or dispose of the funds that people have in Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.

I had to reiterate to that person that for this reason, Bitcoin has no physical representation, and that if you saw coins with the Bitcoin symbol, they are just souvenirs, or symbolic representations of what Bitcoin really is.

What I deduced from this experience with this person that I mention

What I deduce from all this that I am telling you is that most people do not understand what Bitcoin is and they will not understand it no matter how much it is explained to them, because they do not go deeper and investigate more about the subject by their own means.

If they talk to you about an important topic, and you do not investigate on your own about it, you will not fully understand it. That is why regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, it is not enough to explain to people what they are, it is useless to tell them what they consist of, if then they do not have the natural curiosity to continue learning and informing themselves about it.

All this is even more true if we consider that in the field of cryptocurrencies everything is constantly evolving and improving, therefore, even those of us who already have a true understanding in the cryptographic field, we must be constantly informing ourselves and learning about the subject.

Learn and inform ourselves, that must be the slogan that we must always apply and that we must never forget!
