A Heartbreaking Story I saw on the news and social media.. and it broke me.... It was raining hard last July 19, 2025 in Baguio. Storm Crising had brought strong winds and heavy rain. A huge boulder broke loose from the mountain in Camp 7, Kennon Road. It rolled down and crushed a red car and a house. The family had already evacuated. They were safe..... But their dog, a beautiful, stocky exotic bully, was still there. He was inside a cage. He had no way to escape. And when the boulder hit, it landed right where he was. He didn’t make it. No people were hurt that day. But someone’s dog, someone’s loyal, loving pet, a best friend... didn’t survive. He probably didn’t understand what was happening 🥺 This story broke me. And I hope it reminds all of us: In times of disaster, don’t leave your dogs behind. But if you really have no choice, then at least... PLEASE DON’T TIE or CAGE THEM. They can’t save themselves, even if they want to. Let them have a chance to run, to survive. To the family who owned this dog... I know you didn’t want this to happen. I’m sure your hearts are hurting too. Please don’t take this as blame. This is simply a reminder, for all of us, of how fragile life is, and how much our pets depend on us. As they say in Lilo & Stitch… “ʻOhana means family. Family means no one gets left behind… or forgotten.” We honor this brave furbaby. He gave his best. Run free now, angel. 🌈🐾 You were loyal. You were loved. And you mattered.
