Every Christmas is always the last. There came a time when it was your last Christmas with a childhood friend as either that friend or your family has moved away from the place you were born or grew up in. There came a time when it was your last Christmas with an elder relative or grandparent as they passed on, becoming just distant memories as you grew into adulthood. Then more and more people that you knew as a child started to say goodbye, in one way or another, until the Christmas that you knew when you were young was no more, and with it, the joy that it used to bring. So every Christmas, we grab any opportunity that comes along to get together, reconnect, and relive the Christmas that used to bring us so much joy as a child by surrounding ourselves with people we’ve known all our lives. Yet, Christmas as a grown up will always pale next to the Christmas that we remember as a child. Because all the people you’ve ever known will not be around forever. Always remember to give the people you love the attention, care, and time they deserve. Because every Christmas is that much closer to the last Christmas you’ll celebrate with them. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🎄
