What a beauty! Fall is here! 🍂🍁
Three nights ago, the Blood Moon showed itself. This is what my phone can only take from afar. It was so nice. So calming…
How can an ending be as beautiful as this? Because you know that it be essential to a new beginning. Autumn thoughts feels my head. Happy Friday, everyone! 🍂🍁
Today, instead of having a lecture class, our Sensei decided that we wear Japanese traditional wardrobe. I licked the “happi” which is a robe that is used during “omatsuri” or festivals in Japan. Today’s class was really fun! We also had our photo taken at trees with autumn leaves. Tomorrow is one of Japan’s national holiday known as Culture Day, thus, this activity today was just so relevant to the celebration. 🎌🇯🇵🗾🍂🍁
Some leaves of trees are turning yellow. I can’t wait to see the peak of autumn! 🍂🍁💕
Sunsets in autumn. 🍁🍂 It’s my first official autumn in Japan. 💕 I love sunsets and I love autumn, so this is perfect. Hoping that one day I get to spend this view with the one I love. 🫶🏻
Kotsuu juutai - Traffic jam I’m currently inside a bus going to Donki shop here in Nara and the traffic is terrible. This is the first time I’ve experienced traffic in Japan. Wala namang bagyo or anything. Why?? I should’ve reached my destination 20 minutes ago, but I am still here. Pero I can still say I love Japan even if there’s traffic now. Kasi paminsan-minsan lang ito. Di tulad sa Pinas. Hay, kelan kaya uunlad ang Pilipinas?
Today, I climbed Mt. Wakakusa in Nara City. It was my second time to climb it, just a hill, but it was tough for me. Lol. Anyways, the view on top was rewarding, so… tanoshikatta, nonetheless. ☺️💕
Went to USJ today for the nth time to watch its Halloween special. But before the haunted halloween shows, here is MyMelody spreading cuteness and positivity. 💕☺️
Today, I met the Japanese grandmother who we first met at the New Chitose Airport in Sapporo, Hokkaido, who happens to be living in Nara City where I currently live. What a small world! She gave me and my companion some persimmon fruits. She also prepared obento for us to eat while we stayed at the Ukimido Pond and just spend the time sight-seeing. After that, we walked towards the “shotengai” (shopping strip) in Kintetsu and there, we ate cinnamon donuts. Today was a good…

I went to Shinsaibashi area after my appointment somewhere in Osaka. This is the famous Glico Man in Osaka where many tourists (and even locals I think) take a photo with. So, here it is without me though, I’m a bit shy. Lol. Anyway, today, I was reminded that God works in mysterious ways, and He is always in control… and if something is for you, it will always be for you. Thank you, Lord! 🙏🏼🫶🏻
Ichiran ramen in Osaka! This is one of the most famous ramen restaurants in Japan. Everytime I go to Osaka, and if there’s no plan where to eat, I always end up here. Lol. So if you ever visit Japan, don’t miss this out! Super yummy, you will never regret!
Last Saturday, I participated in a bus tour for international students of Nara prefecture. Our last activity was to go inside a limestone cave. So, this is a photo of me taken by the international saloon staff as I go my way towards the end of the cave. Tanoshikatta desu!
I am definitely a coffee person. I drink coffee everyday, if I don’t, I get migraines in the afternoon. Coffee, anyone?
I participated in a bus tour today together with some fellow international students in Nara Prefecture. We went to Otaki Dam and we were able to go down up until the conduit gates where water is being released (when needed). Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take photos of what it looks like inside. So, here’s a photo of the dam from the outside instead. Dams don’t only function as water reservoir, but also as a source of clean tap water in Nara Prefecture and also in…
This is s photo of the skies and clouds today. It is mostly chilly in the morning and evening, but during day time, the temperature is around 27 degrees. So the sun is up, it’s not too cold, but I still like this better than the summer heat. Autumn is now officially my favorite season! 🍁🍂
I love sunsets, because a setting sun is a reminder of a day’s end to start a new beginning - tomorrow.
Another day in the lab, but not doing any lab work. Just supporting my co-advisees as they prepare for their presentation. Last semester, I also assisted them in their data gathering process. Ganbatte ne!
This is the 5-storey pagoda of the Kohfukuji compound in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, Japan. It’s usually not open for people to visit due to its old age. But today, I got to go inside it. I thought we can climb the steep ladders until the fifth floor, we were not allowed to. Probably because the structure is very old. It was opened to the public today because starting Jan 2023 it will undergo major renovations until 2030. And this means it will be covered in such a loooong…
I like taking random photos of the sky, whether it be a gloomy, cloudy day, or a vibrant day when the sun it out. This photo was taken yesterday afternoon while I was walking to my class at the university. I was mesmerized with the beauty of the blue sky and the cotton-candy like clouds that matches well with the sky. Hoping for brighter days ahead for you and for our whole family. 🫶🏻
Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a good day/night, wherever you maybe. For tonight’s dinner, I cooked pancit bihon and fried chicken because I was craving for it. It’s nobody’s birthday today, but I still cooked those meals which are “popularly” served during birthdays. Anyways, I was not able to take a photo. I will not forget next time. Lol. Itada kimasu!
Konnichiwa! Today, the Embassy of Japan to the Philippines released a video of the Ambassador urging Filipinos to visit Japan, because starting today, Japan is opening its borders (more openly) to individual (and independent) tourists. It was opened last June but only for group tours. So, what are you waiting for? Revenge travel is real! Lol. Come visit Japan and make some new memories here!…
One of the most important numbers in the Bible is 7. It is associated with the seventh day when God rested after the creation of the universe. There’s a bunch of association from the old testament aside from the one about the creation. Another symbolic and great reminder from the new testament was when Peter asked how many times should one forgive, when Jesus told Peter, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” Whatever this number signifies,…
This is one of the recipes that my partner gave me that I can easily do whenever I miss home. Pork steak, everyone! It’s not adobo, totally different from it in taste, but somehow similar. I like pork adobo, but I like Pinoy pork steak too. ☺️ Itada kimasu! Kain tayo! Mangan tayon! ☺️☺️
There was a lavender field when we went to Shikisai-no-oka in Biei, Furano, Hokkaido..but it was not in its full bloom which I believe is around July/August (not sure). Even so, we were able to taste their very own lavender ice cream. Don’t worry coz it doesn’t taste body wash/soap, or oil at all. ☺️😅
I was about to sleep when suddenly, I thought of my research paper. One of the requirements when I was applying for a scholarship was a research proposal related to education. During the summer break, I was able to finish the questionnaire, however, I only got a few respondents. Now, I’m still looking for possible respondents who should be Science teachers in Japan elementary, junior high school, or high school. Maybe there are people who can help me here? ☺️
Do you know the Royce brand? I just heard of this chocolate-coated potato chips when my friend brought this as an “omiyage” / “pasalubong” from Japan. So, the first time I came to Japan, I intended to buy at least 1 box of it. And it took me a long time to eat it because it’s not that cheap. Last week, I had a chance to buy it once again. But still doing the same, not eating it in a single day. Maybe one or two piece/s per day. Loljk.
Ohayou gozaimasu! May your Sunday be blessed with love and positivity. Spread the sunshine! 🙏🏼 Sharing this beautiful sunflower photo that I took last summer when it was in season. 🌻🌻🌻
Luna looks perfect today. ☺️ When I look at the moon, I am always reminded that its beauty is not coming from its own, it only reflects the light that comes from the Sun. As God’s children, we should be like the moon, but we should not take all the credit of the good things that emanate from us, coz like the moon, we’re merely reflectors of the very One who gives everything. 🌖🌕
Today also, we went to Takayama Bamboo Forest for the Takayama Bamboo Lights Event. It was so nice, we were able to have our matcha experience, eat matcha ice cream, walk around to see (and take photos) of the illuminated bamboo sculptures, buy from food stalls, and watch musical performances. Today’s s good day. Yaaay!
