Arctinos (Arctiinae) are a large and diverse subfamily of lepidoptera with about 11,000 species found in the world, of which 6000 are Neotropical (Scoble 1995). Before it was considered a family (Arctiidae) of Noctuoidea.

This subfamily includes groups of specific colors like tiger moths, usually of intense colors. Many species have caterpillars with abundant philosophy, so they are also found as woolly bears. The scientific name refers to this (Greek αρκτος (arctos), bear). The caterpillars of some species can be vulgarly called plume worms (name usually referred to as Lymantriinae).

These worms are a little toxic. its toxins can cause irritation to the skin, in any case it will grow wings and transform into a butterfly, it will be able to fly in love, and then die.
