Major moves in country's economic reform and opening-up

In 2018, at the first China International Import Expo, President Xi Jinping announced initiatives China planned to take in five areas to expand opening-up. One year on, these have been largely implemented and China continues to unveil measures aimed at breaking new ground in opening-up and delivering high-quality development.

According to a decision adopted at the fourth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in late October, the country will up the pace in improving the socialist market economy and the technological innovation mechanism so as to build a new economic system with a higher level of openness.
