During the sapling planting season, large saplings are bought and sold at various places of the district including City Park Road, Rajapur Upazila, Baghari Bazar, Satpakia Bazar of Nalchiti Upazila and Aura Bazar, Battala Bazar and Jamaddar Hat of Kanthalia Upazila. Two days a week, these markets sell millions of rupees worth of medicinal, fruit, forest and fancy saplings of various species. Mahogany and raintree are being sold more as forest trees. There is no shortage of fruit seedlings.
