After India got it's independence in 1947, many prominent leaders and philosophers like Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Aurobindo envisioned a completely different fabric, a Vedic social model for the Indian society. However, India ended up taking Nehru's ideology which was largely influenced by the 19th century ideas of Europe and a significant part of it was actually based on Marxism. These marxist ideas which were Nehru's brainchild are entirely a Western import, totally disconnected and have no relation to the Indian culture and tradition. They continue to be brainwashed to students by the books and learnings in the Indian Academia, civil services, foreign policy and are a major headache for the ethos of what is India today. This is a great interview between Rajiv Malhotra and Come Carpenter.
