After the last few months of Team India grinding it out down under in Australia and winning the series and levelling the series against England at home, there has been some significant move for some Indian players in the ICC Test Rankings. Here are the noteworthy mentions
Rohit Sharma
After his amazing knock of 161 in the second test match against England which helped level the test series with England, he jumped 9 spots and jumped to no 14 in the ICC Test Rankings for batsman. His best test ranking was number 10 during the November 2019 timeframe.
Ravichandran Ashwin
Although he is not so much of a batsman, his man of the match performance which overshadowed Rohit Sharma’s performance in the second test against England lifted him 14 places in batting rankings to 81st. But then again since he is mainly a bowler, his 5 wicket haul moved him to the seventh place in the ICC Rankings.
Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant has been having an amazing streak of innings since the last 4-5 test matches and all his innings have also been high impact innings leading to wins for India. He has also had a 50 at least in each one of the last 4 test matches he played and this has bumped up his ranking to his career best 11th rank.
Axar Patel
Axar has had an amazing debut where he got a 5 for in the second test against England which propelled him to 68th rank in the ICC Test Rankings!
