Fathers have special duties to their children. In spite of the efforts of the mother to keep her family intact,the influence of a good father makes a lot of different. Proverb 23:13 advises fathers not to withhold correction from the child because if he is corrected with the rod,his soul has been saved from death.
Children should be corrected at the right time for in Ecc 33: 1-8, we learn that there is a time for everything. To correct a child from birth to sixth year is very important. This is the time the child is highly receptive and can assimilate all he us expose to in his home. He takes in more by observation than by mere instructions. The father should demonstrate love and be a mirror of all he teaches .
A father must recognise the needs of his children.
In colossian 3:19,fathers are advised not to embitter their children or they will become discourage. Fathers are instructed to discipline the son for in that there is hope.
Bad men breed bad children.
Be an exemplary father and your children will emulate you. Love the mother of your children and the children will love you and accept your relationship
