What are the numbers on a clock called?

A clock has numbers and hands on it. Its long hand is called the minute hand. And the short hand is called hour hand.

These two hands are smaller in size than secend's hand.

Why are they called clock hands?

Before the late of 14th century, a fixed hand  (often a carving literally shaped like a hand ) indicated the hour by pointing to numbers on a rotating dial after this time, the current convention of a rotating hand on a fixed dial was adopted into a new system.

Why is it called an analog clock?

Definition of analog system is Something that changes continuously is called an analog system . Something that changes continuously meaning it moves smoothly from one point to another without any sudden jumps or break is called analog . So in easy words because of the definition above this type of clock is called analog clock.. Example given as Speed meter of vehicles is also analog.
