4 Good Reasons To Never Pull Out Your White Hair

Once the first white hair comes, we know that it is irreversible and that the next ones will follow soon. In the face of this natural process of canities (the name was given to progressive hair bleaching that occurs with age), we are not all equal. Indeed, as for hair loss, genetics plays a lot on the ability of the melanin that colors our hair to be secreted.  Stress also affects the pigmentation of our natural color. In any case, when the first white hairs appear, we feel the urge to pull them out. However, this small gesture which seems quite trivial is not without consequence. And these are not the ones we think! Here are 4 good reasons not to pull out your white hair.

1. Pulling out your white hair only delays the process

As we said earlier, the first greying hair is only the harbinger of the following ones. So, snatching them up is quite futile, because that will not change the inexorable course of time. At least, we can be reassured by telling ourselves that removing a white hair is nothing like the myth of the Hydra of Lerna or the love adage that one lost means ten found. A hair follicle can only contain one hair. So pulling out a white hair won't make three more appear instead!

2. You attack your scalp and it risks revenge

Pulling out white hair goes against the hair renewal cycle. Indeed, the hair alternates phases of growth, degradation, and then continuous fall. And by pulling out the hair, you disrupt this cycle. This attack on the scalp can therefore make it want to protect itself. To do this, it will secrete more sebum, which will therefore make the hair more oily.

3. It will become more visible after uprooting!

During regrowth, the hair will become thicker, more covered, and straighter. It will be much more visible than when it first sprouted. This allows the white hair to protect itself from the future pulling out. If you have had the experience before, you may have noticed this white spike that was not there before!

4. It might not grow back!

Unfortunately, over time, the hair may stop growing. This happens especially when the root and follicle are damaged. The risk is to end up with a hole, or even alopecia. Another good reason not to pull out his white hair. Otherwise, there is always the chemical coloring solution or natural coloring at the hairdresser or home. Remember, however, that coloring your hair with permanent coloring does not prevent the hair from bleaching underneath.
