The origin of this commemoration dates back to 1974 when the then-president Luis Echeverría Álvarez issued a decree to establish July 1st as Engineer's Day, coinciding with the date when the Royal Academy of Engineering was founded in 1776.
Since then, various events and activities are held every year to acknowledge the work of Mexican engineers in different fields such as industry, construction, energy, technology, health, and the environment.
Engineers are key players in the progress and innovation of a nation, so today we send them congratulations and gratitude for their work and dedication.
