Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 5 minutes, scoring his 34th goal in his debut season for Inter. The Red Devil thus equaled the record of the Brazilian Ronaldo, who had scored 34 times in his first season in Lombardy in 1997-1998. Dutch striker Luuk De Jong headed twice (12th, 33rd) to give the advantage to the Sevillians, before Diego Godin tied the score at the 36th minute. Sevile took control in the 74th minute with a Diego Carlos shot deflected into his own goal by Lukaku: 3-2 final score.
