Is it right or wrong？Did he made the right answer on the modules？ Yes, assessment is important for us teachers to know if the students were able to comprehend what they are reading. There are activities on the modules and the answers are not included in the answer key page. They need to work it on their own. Or maybe some would ask assisstance from their parents just to check if they were on the right track.
To check the answer of the students is part also of our daily routine. After printing their modules, we must spend time checking their returned modules with their answer sheets written on a piece of paper. Answers may vary especially on the essay type question but there are also rubric points to be followed. I am not particular with the grammar especially if the subject I handled is not English, as long as the the main thought is there, I will give points on that. Multiple choice type of question is easy to correct because you can easily recognize the correct letter asked on the question at the same time it is not also time consuming.
We teachers appreciate students who answered their modules on their own analysis and capability. They will learn more if they work on independently. Because there were cases that parents were the one who answered the modules of their children. How will they grow and learn if they become too dependent to their parents？I am not talking to Elementary grade level students because of course they need the help of their parents especially with some words that they could not undertand. I am handling Senior High School students and I believe they can work and answer the modules on their own. Resources are available anywhere especially when you have internet connection wherein you can search and ask google about it.
Yes, we are not perfect. It is okay to get and have wrong answers. What is important, you tried your best and learn from that mistakes. If you learned then, you will make sure you will not commit the same mistake again. I salute also to all teachers out there.
