When you hear the word love, what comes to your mind？Love is in the air 14 is fast approaching. Are you ready to celebrate that day with your special someone？To all husband out there, what are your plans and gift to your wife and children？
Allow me to continue my viewpoints on 1 Corinthians Chapter 13. Yeah, it talks all about love. There are still 4 more important things about love I want to emphasize.
Love always protects.
Yes, it is definitely true that love always protects. It is like a loving father who love his son and daughter so much that he wants to protect him/her always even against mosquito bite. They do not want them to get harm, be in danger and be associate with bad people. They risk their lives just to let them and feel secure. I do understand why some parents are too strict and protective to their children.
I grew up in a family wherein my father is perfectionist and so disciplinarian especially to my two sisters. He set his curfew time at 6pm for us to be in the house before dinner. He wanted us to finish our studies and have a degreee first in college before we engaged in a serious relationship. We had limited freedom somehow but when we were in our house, we felt love and secure because we are protected by Him. He is like other fathers who are too protective to their children for them not to be in bad company, drugs, vices like smoking and drinking liquour, not to engage in teenage pregnancy and other negative issues of being a teenager.
Yes they are like God the Father who is our refuge and strength. Under his wings and loving arms, we find secure. That is what real love is.
Love always trusts.
How do we trust someone？It is like trusting God whom you do not see but because you love Him, you will follow and obey his commands. This line is evident to partners or spouses who are working abroad or they are in a long distance relationship with their spouse. They need trust especially temptations are out there. They need to trust their husband/wife because what they are doing is for the sake of their family and not for their own good.
I remember after I graduated in college, I went to Metro Manila to find for a job. Since I do not have any experience at all I need to be far with my family because job opportunities in remote areas are too limited. If you apply also in government agencies, you need to have a backer first for you to get in. Yes being in a big city is entirely a different world for me but since my parents trust me that time, they allowed me to be far from time. They trusted me that I can do it.
Love always hopes.
You are hopeful that the girl whom your courting with, will say YES for you to be in a relationship with her as boyfriend/girlfriend. You are hopeful that you your relationship will get stronger and better everyday. You are hopeful that your baby will be cure when he gets sick. You are hopeful that your parents will be healed when your ill mother is having a health problem.
We are hopeful of everything because we love them. Same way with ourselves, if you love yourself, you are hopeful of your future, your career, your family and in everything you do that is why you are doing your best now. When you love everything, there is peace, joy and contentment. How about this pandemic of Covid 19？What are we hopeful for？Of course we are hoping this virus will come to an end because we love everyone. We want everything and everyone to be in normal stage like what was happenning before.
Love always perseveres.
You are hopeful at the same time persevering. Yes we are in persevering stage right now. National government, local officials, private sectors and especially frontliners are doing their best so that our situation will not get worst.
Perseverance is important in any undertakings. Even if you failed in your board exams how many times, you try and try again just to pass that national exam and be in that profession you desired most. It is like running in a race or competition that no matter how many times we stumble and fall, we never give up and continue running the race, for we know that we will reap what we are doing and will get the reward when we reach the finish line. Perseverance is one the keys to success. So keep it up my friend and do not give up. You are near reaching that end.
