Emotion is the feeling one derives as a result of their circumstance, mood, relationship or anything surrounding their life. Emotions can be positive or negative.
Emotions can affect are lives greatly depending how we react to them. The energy we get from our emotions can be channeled into other areas of our life.
In the case of positive emotions like joy, happiness, love, these can be channeled into other activities such as our job and make us more productive.
Then in the case of negative emotions such as hate, anger, betrayal and so on, the emotions derived from these can also be channeled into other activities there by making us feel depression and become unproductive.
To over come negative emotions is not really all that easy because it depends on how serious the cause of the emotion is, but what we can do is to try and have a level of self control to keep our emotions at bay so it doesn't affect out lives.
