We’re in 2020, and yet, forums are still alive!

There are forums for everything, including black hat hacking. The most popular hacking forum is Hack Forums, which was created back in 2009. Lots of illegal activities been organized on Hack Forums, including the development and marketing of “Limitless Keylogger Pro”, a malware that captuted the victim’s keystrokes and was sold to other hackers for $35, the author ended up being sentenced to prison.

Other hacking forums include Nulled and Cracked, people upload “combos” or “combo lists” which are text files with thousands of lines including emails and their passwords, they can be obtained with various ways such as phising, or hacking a website. The combos are sometimes categorized in categories such as

  • Shopping

  • Gaming

  • Music

  • Movies

meaning that the emails are associated with the category in some way.

People get those combo lists and try every single one of the emails and passwords on a specific service such as Netflix or Spotify in hopes of getting some accounts that work, and if they do, they sell them!

But (thankfully), there is a problem. Most websites will have a rate limit, meaning that they won’t allow you to check if an account works really fast, and since they have thousands of different combos to try, they want it to be done really fast.

To bypass the rate limit, people also upload “proxies” or “proxy lists”, which are lists of thousands of IP Addresses and ports which can be used to send traffic as another IP Address in result of bypassing the rate limit.

There’s also a big chance of a proxy not working, so people also have to check if the proxies work, which doesn’t take that long (depending on their internet connection).

After the hacker is done checking the proxies, he can officially start “cracking” accounts.

There’s another problem though. Their home internet connection is probably not that fast, so for that, they use what they call “RDPs”, which are servers on a datacenter which run Windows, and have a really fast internet connection. They can leave it running overnight, or at all time, they can even automate getting combos and proxies so it can all be done automatically.

How do people get their hands into an RDP? you may ask.

People can rent an RDP from a hosting provider, but some other people decide to go around and try to hack some, they do that to remain anonymous and untraceable.

This is how your account on any platform can just be randomly sold.

You can obviously protect yourself by not using the same password everywhere and using a password manager.

On the off chance that you have pondered attempting to kick a smoking propensity, you're in good company. https://frumist.com/ Almost 7 of 10 smokers say they need to stop. Stopping smoking is probably everything thing you can manage for your wellbeing — smoking damages essentially every organ in your body, including your heart. Almost 33% of passings from coronary illness are the aftereffect of smoking and used smoke.
