Because some people are dying are receiving the vaccination., and that sells newspapers. The question is, as always, does it actually indicate causation?
Imagine you are going to die on the 31st December 2050, due to lung cancer. Let's imagine the following scenarios.
Your favourite sports team won the ultimate accolade that year, did it cause your death?
You ate a McDonald's that morning, did it cause your death?
You played poker the week before, did it cause your death?
You smoked the day before, did it cause your death?
I played Halo the night before, did it cause your death?
A range of answers there, from “hell no" to “possibly, but we can't be sure, you might have died from something else”. People die after taking the vaccine because people die anyway. The question is, did the vaccine cause it, or did they just happen to have their appointment with death that day and they just happened to have had the vaccine previously, like me playing Halo just before you die?
That's why whenever a death occurs during testing everything stops until we know which it is. Right now, the vaccine doesn't seem to cause major problems, at least no more so than the alternative, but people will die regardless because it is a vaccine against a specific illness, not a vaccine against death
