avatar 2 the way of water
now has its first official trailer. Never bet against James Cameron
More than 10 years after the release of Avatar comes the first trailer for its sequel, The Way of Water, and it makes one thing clear: James Cameron knows what he's doing.
The first official trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water is here, accompanied by a new synopsis that reads: "Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the problems that haunt them and how far they are able to go to stay safe".
This new installment once again stars James Cameron as the ship's captain. The author of Titanic, Terminator and Aliens, the return will again try to put in check all those who doubt him and this sequel. To do so, Cameron will need to rekindle our interest in Pandora more than ten years after the original film. Because Jake, Neytiri and company have aged as much as the audience of that one. The same goes for 3D and CGI, now without the wow factor on their side. Will The Sense of Water live up to expectations and the high bar by which it will be measured?
In any case, Cameron will not be alone. His team includes screenwriter Josh Friedman and cinematographer Russell Carpenter, accompanied by the original soundtrack by Simon Franglen. As for the star-studded cast, we find old acquaintances from Avatar such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, CCH Pounder, Gionvanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Matt Gerald, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. But they will be joined by names of the caliber of Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Bliss, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, Jack Champion, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh and Jemaine Clement. You can even expect to see Vin Diesel and Oona Chaplin.
Avatar 2: the movie of the Christmas season
The premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water is scheduled for December 16, 2022 in theaters around the world. And if that wasn't enough, a few months earlier we will be able to see the original film again on the big screen with a re-release that will give it the definitive push in its eternal race to remain the highest-grossing film in history.
