In the city center, they are decorating the alleys and preparing for the New Year. The whole world is preparing for Christmas, but in Russia they are preparing for the New Year because Christmas in Russia is celebrated on January 7, since the Orthodox Church has not switched to the new style and marks the holidays according to the old one. But probably only in Russia do they celebrate two New Years: the first before Christmas and the second after Christmas (according to the old style).
