I think every one of my assests is in the red today except for gold, up 4% Troubling times in Ukraine, I don't know what to think, this world goes from one disaster to another, what will the west do about this as Ukraine is not yet a Nato member, sanctions, I figure Putin has already priced that in. The sad thing is that innocent people will suffer, its tragic... How is this all going to unfold? Any chance for de-escalation? The sanctions will hurt the russian economy and their people will suffer too, nothing good will come of this. If Putin expands attacks a Nato country for example Estonia or Poland this thing could be an absolute nightmare come true... We want peace, not war! 😭😭🙏🙏

The tale of the storm in 87 19th Feb 2022 We have just had a very windy spell of weather here in the UK. Storm Eunice was pretty severe by UK standards, a number of trees were blown over and there was a fair amount of structural damage too. This storm was pretty severe, but it reminded me of the worst storm I have ever experienced in October 1987 when the South East of the UK was hit with 'hurricane force winds' of up to 134 mph. This storm was all the more devastating because people were completely unprepared for it. The previous days weather forecast read by Michael Fish said that there was nothing to worry about! I had never heard anything like it before, I got up out of bed and looked out of the window and could see the tree in our garden had blown over, thankfully without causing any damage. After I saw that I went downstairs and opened the back door and stepped outside in my pyjamas. I just wanted to feel how strong the wind was, I think I stayed outside for about a minute, with the storm swirling around me. The following morning I got myself ready and went to school as usual but when I got there the school was not open. There had been a fair amount of damage done and school was cancelled. Yipee, I thought to myself, no school today. I walked back home via the park and saw that two of the large trees had fallen over there as well, it really was a fierce storm! I can't remember what I did the rest of the day, but it must have been better than going to school. The Storm is estimated to have felled up to 15 million trees across the country with one of the worst hit places being 'Sevenoaks' in kent, which lost six of its seven oak trees overnight. Here is a clip of the news report the following day, it was the worst storm that the UK had experienced in nearly 300 years. https://youtu.be/ciBox3QHYq4 Since 'The Great Storm of 87' a lot of money has been invested in technology to help weather forecasts become more accurate, but they still get things wrong from time to time and even with all that technology it is difficult to accurately predict the weather more than a few days in advance. Storm Eunice may have been severe, but nothing compared to the storm of 87. I couldn't go on holiday this week as I tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday, so I am stuck at home. Thankfully I only have a bit of a cough and am otherwise okay. The water fountains in town all lit up look pretty, I had a busy last 2 days looking for a newish car and finally settled on one I like, my old motor is not worth repairing, a bit sad really, it has been really reliable up till recently. But hey, all being well I pick the new one up on Monday. 😊

Anyway, my post before about Stormgain. Yes I do think it is incredibly risky to use x300 leverage, but I did some research and found that if you only trade with the funds you use from the built in miner and make sure not to use your own funds you can make some money that way. I don't know if it's a real miner or more of a marketing strategy to entice you to spend real money but it works! Just been reading about Stormgain offering x300 leverage! Is that a risky strategy or what, the market dips a fraction of a percent and your position is closed and your money gone. But hey a 1% rise and you make 300% Basically its Black or Red, all in.. Not investing, a pure gamble! Minting my first NFT's for free 3rd Feb 2022 To be honest with you, I had heard a lot about NFT's and heard that some of them can sell for huge prices, but I didn't really understand what they were until a few days ago when I minted my first NFT's on the Polygon blockchain for free! An NFT is basically digital art, and can be a picture, painting, video or music which is unique as it has its own digital signature. People may be able to copy the artwork itself but its digital signature of authenticity gives it the value. I read up a little bit about how to create my own NFT and actually found it was much easier than I thought. The thing that was stopping me from making my own NFT was that in order to create one you generally need a fair amount of Ethereum in your wallet as when you mint the NFT's you need to pay 'gas fees' which can be quite a lot. In order to make any money you would need to be able to sell your digital art for a good price. This is where Polygon comes into its own! Polygon is a second layer solution which is built on top of Ethereum and can enable you to mint your own NFT's for zero fees. They take a service charge of 2.5% when your NFT is sold which is taken from the total value so there is no cost to you. I created my NFT using 'Trust Wallet'. If you want to make absolutely sure that there is no cost to yourself you can create a new wallet which you can use solely for your NFT's. I found this great video which explains the process in a step by step way, check it out. The process is relatively straight forward and can be done using Trust Wallet and a Dapp called 'OpenSea'. https://youtu.be/-DjdBFdGC-I Basically the important thing to remember is to make sure you select the 'Polygon' network, then follow the instructions, set your price and hope for the best. It is also possible when creating your NFT's to add a 'Royalty fee'. I have set mine at 10% which means every time my NFT is sold on I will receive a 10% cut! Not bad I think. Anyway I have produced 2 NFT's so far and my collection is called 'onlymythoughts' after my read.cash channel. They are each priced at 0.0025 ETH which is around $7 usd at todays prices. Don't ask me why but when the NFT's are sold you receive your money in Ethereum, the buyer pays and gas fees required to make the purchase so there is no risk to yourself. Don't forget to add your payment address when creating your NFT so that you can receive your reward when your digital art is sold. Anyway finally I include a link to my NFT collection, which I will update from time to time. Your opinion is so wrong 27th Jan 2022 Have you ever dared to express an opinion which wasn't in line with the 'accepted' politically correct view? In the UK we have a diverse culture and are generally seen as a 'tolerant' nation which welcomes people who work hard and contribute to society in a positive way. Though when people raise legitimate questions about the scale of immigration, or point out that needless lives are being lost due to 'illegal' immigrants drowning at sea by attempting to cross the english channel in overcrowded dingies they are often attacked as 'racist' and 'selfish' people. This I think is unfair and does nothing to address the issues. It is a fact that a large number of 'refuges' who come to the UK seeking asylum are not genuine refugees fleeing war torn countries, they are in fact ecconmic migrants seeking a better life. This video shows how overcrowded and dangerous these dinghies are. The people on the boat are all claiming to be from war torn countries but have by now probably discarded their identity documents and will seek asylum in the UK. How can the UK know where they are really from without any documentation? https://youtu.be/x879wqdfrqM The problem is that unless we are able to discuss this in an open and honest way, the problem will not go away, in fact it will get worse and more people will needlessly drown at sea, which is tragic. If these 'illegal' migrants know that if they manage to reach the shores of the UK and they will not be sent home then this does nothing but encourage more to make the dangerous journey in the first place. I feel for these people, who risk so much to get to the UK, but they have been exploited by ruthless traffickers with the promise of well paid jobs and a better life. Many have given their life savings to these wicked people who think its okay to put 30 people on a dinghy only fit for 8 and set them to sail across the channel from France to the UK. I figure that the French government turn something of a blind eye to the huge issue of human trafficking because they know that once these migrants have reached british waters they are no longer a problem to them. This is heartless, if they cared more about stopping these people making the dangerous journey in the first place more lives would be saved. You see its not that people who say we should do more to tackle the issue of 'illegal' immigration are necessarily 'racist' or 'selfish'. In fact they are probably just as likely as anyone else to be upset to see the needless lives being lost. What I feel many of these people think is that in order to prevent loss of life we need to make these people realise that if they come to the UK illegally they will be sent home. Unless of course they can 'prove' that they are genuine refugees fleeing persecution, should we give large numbers the benefit of the doubt if we are unsure? These are all legitimate questions that need to be debated rationally, without resorting to hurling insults at those who question a soft approach. I believe that we should have compassion, and help those in genuine need. All I really want to say is that by being to soft on immigration, are actually doing more harm than good? The only people who win are the 'people trafficking' gangs and the easier it is for them to exploit people, then the more they will continue to do just that! Is that such a wrong opinion I wonder? Old Skool back in the day 87-96 26th Jan 2022 It seems like only yesterday, but the acid house and rave era from 87-96 was something almost unreal. The movement began in around 87 when unlicenced music events began to take off with details of the events often given out at the last minute on pirate radio. It was something unprecedented and the movement really took of in 1989 which has become known amongst ravers and acid house fans as 'The Summer of Love'. You can read more about this here https://tinyurl.com/thesummeroflove It was truly amazing like some kind of musical revolution which brought new age hippies, and trendy clubbers together. When I listen to the music from that era today it gives me a sense of nostalgisa, takes me back in time, gives me a sense of euphoria and tingles. Here are a couple of my favourite tunes from that era. **'Corporation of One - The Real Life'** https://youtu.be/aEocO4ojv_8 What a classic tune! 😍😍 **'Liquid - Sweet Harmony'** https://youtu.be/RW4YfSxBeAw These are just a couple of my favourite tunes from back in the day but there are so many more, far too many to mention. The rave events began to take place outside more often, in places such as deserted airfields. Some of the biggest events were organised by a group known as 'Spiral Tribe' who played a big part in organising the biggest such event in history in the UK. Spiral Tribes slogan was "We are here to reconnect the Earth" and the infamous 'Castle Morton' event in 92 attracted new age travellers, clubbers and just about anyone who had heard about it and felt like going. On a bank holiday weekend so many people had descended on 'Castle Morton' that the police were powerless to shut down the rave, their only option was not to intervene and wait until the crowds had enough of their free party. This rave made headlines in the UK it was incredible. Ultimately this resulted in the passing of the 'Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994' which contained a clause which would criminalise these unlicenced music events, namely Sections 63–67 whic defined any gathering of 20 or more people where: 63(1)(b) "music" includes sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats. This controversial bill deliberately targeted these events and made things more difficult for rave organisers. One such venue was 'The Sanctuary' in Milton Keynes. A huge number of events took place here right up until 2004. The acid house and rave scene was the also the era of vinyl and djs. Today we have digital downloads and spotify. Its not the same now, music has changed, but the legacy of acid house and rave culture lives on to this day!
