Can we then say God is a murderer when an earthquake or a Tsunami happens? A murderer as earlier mentioned in the first part is another human taking the life of another human unjustly.

We can't call God a murderer as we have established in the first part that all lives came from Him and He deems it fit when to take it back. Out life is not really ours because He gave us life for a purpose. Just as the case with the Servant with one talent. When he wasn't making good use of the talent, the master took it back. When we are not accomplishing the purpose to which He has created us, He can take that life back and then use another person because God cannot be stranded.

He can choose whatever means He wants to recall that life back and sometimes it doesn't have to be pleasant as we have seen with Sodom and Gomorrah. There is nothing that happens that He is not in the know of. If He allows it, that is because He can use it to His Glory. So, an earthquake can be termed an act of God or one of the many ways in which He can use to recall back any life.

Job 9:5&6 (NIV)

He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in his anger.

He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble.

Only God can shake the earth. The pillars of the earth and all that is on earth. The Bible says that at the blast of the breath of His nostrils, the foundations of the earth were laid bare. Let's have a look;

Exodus 15:8 (NIV)

By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood up like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.

Psalms 18:15 (NIV)

The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, Lord, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

2 Samuel 22:16 (NIV)

The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the Lord, at the blast of breath from his nostrils.

We can all see from the instances above that when the earth shakes, it is an act of God. He created everything and everything answers to Him. He is in control of everything because He made everything. Nothing

John 1:3 (NIV)

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Does God have the right to be angry? Of course, He has every right to be angry but God is not always angry. Most people have carved an opinion of God as if He were a taskmaster that would not even show mercy or that is always angry at every little thing which is why they continued in their perverted ways. No, and that is wrong. God is full of mercy and would always show that mercy every single time until we change. When He has given us many ways to change and we persist in it, He gets angry at that situation.

We as humans get angry over slight things and we impose our human nature on the person of God. God is full of mercy and yes, He can get angry too. His mercies are new every morning. So, what gets God angry?

Romans 1:18 (NIV)

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

Psalms 103:8 (NIV)

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

Most of us have turned from the way of God and embraced the ways of the world. Most people are consumed with so many wicked ways and it is disheartening. You see killings everywhere and dishonesty and greed too. We are the ones who have offended God and it is not the other way round. God has every right to be angry but still, He is always showing us His mercy.

We need to do better. We need to stop blaming God and rather blame ourselves while working towards doing things better. God's standard can never change. He won't change His person or His standards just to accommodate the sinful states we have put ourselves. He is always willing to show us mercy if only we have the heart to change. He searches all hearts and He knows the thoughts thereof.

As a nation, as individuals, we need to start doing things better. Our sinful nature can never make God happy and seeing that Christ Jesus has already taken the fall for us, we can embrace His ways and please God.
