Wolverhampton Wanderers took on West Brom and playing from home, you would expect the fortunes of Wolves to change at least but the fall continues.
Wolves started the game hoping to subdue their opponents and the early chance they for was a tamed effort which Button saved with ease.
After few exchanges, Robinson was clattered into on the line. I still feel the foul was on the line but the referee gave a penalty. Matheus Pereira stepped up and took the spot-kick. He scored by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Wolves came alive in the match and Adama Traore did everything just to get his team back into the game. They tried a lot of crosses, couples with some long-range shots but still, nothing came out of it.
Traore proved to be a thorn in the flesh of West Brom and he was a constant menace with his speed, shot, power and attempted assists but still, nothing came out of everything with the ever-resilient defence line of West Brom.
West Brom did everything - they attacked and defended and their attacking threats came mostly through Robinson. He had another opportunity to add to his team's tally but he fired straight at Rui Patricio. He had another effort right at the left-hand side of the box but Rui saved impressively and that was shortly after Boly missed a lovely chance in the box.
In the 38th minute, Fabio Silva scored to restore parity. Fabio Silva has been out of form for a while with so many missed chances for the past 3 games but he scored on the night to give hope to Wolves. It was a brilliant turn and he slotted the ball home easily.
In the 43rs minute, Wolves took the lead for the first time in the match when Boly slotted home as well from a corner scramble and the first half ended 2-1, in favour of Wolves.
The second half resumed and in the 52nd minute, West Brom pegged Wolves back into the game when Ajayi rose higher and nodded the ball home to leave Wolves deflated and in the 55th minute, Robinson was fouled again in the box. The referee had no choice than to point to the penalty spot again.
Matheus Pereira stepped up again and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way for the second time on the night to make two goals and a goal short of a hat-trick.
Wolverhampton Wanderers had a series of chances but nothing came out of it for them, even the glaring ones. They left licking their wounds while having questions running through their minds as well.
Sam Allardyce got his first win for West Brom since he got the job and he would be hoping it would be enough to stir his team in this relegation fight.
