These are the amazing things I learned from Bro. Eli Soriano's teaching on the above-mentioned topic in addition to my own personal research as well.
John 3:16 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God is the God of love. His love for us and to us is everlasting and that's why He said in His Word that He has loved us with an everlasting love. It is a love that can never run out meaning He looks at us with the eyes of Jesus - seeing His sacrifice. No wonder He said anyone who comes to Him with a broken and a contrite heart, He will not cast away. God is intentional with His love for us. Nothing can separate us from His love, not death, not sickness, not life's turmoil.
Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
Romans 8:35 (NIV)
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
The Bible records that, what greater love is this, that a man would send His son to die for the sins of the whole world. Jesus is a testimony of the love that God has for us. In the first quote Bible verse, it says, He sent His only begotten son to humanity. Jesus knew all the troubles He would be facing. God knew right from the start too because nothing is hidden from Him. He had to make Jesus go through that to show His love for us as demonstrated by Jesus.
Imagine Jesus being nailed to the cross and He still prayed and said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they were doing?". Who else prays for those who are determined to claim his or her life? It's to point us to the fact that God loves us deeply even though He knows the evil humans are capable of perpetuating. His arms are wide open to receive us if only we can come to Him in genuine repentance.
Psalm 51:17 (NIV)
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
The very people Jesus was sent to mocked Him, tried to bring Him down and they did even though they didn't know it was to the Glory of God's name. The very people He healed, preached to, helped and fed did all despicable things to Him in addition to His own people that failed to acknowledge Him because they knew who His earthly father was.
John 1:11 (NIV)
He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
God 'GAVE'. You cannot claim to love someone without giving to them, whatever it is. You cannot love without giving. You give your time, your body, your energy, your resources etc. God clearly demonstrated this when He gave the world Jesus as remission for our sins as a model that true love requires giving and it has to be our best. The best gift God gave the world is Jesus because, with Him, we have access to God and eternal life in Him.
Isaiah 53:3-5 (NIV)
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We are constantly reminded of God's love when we take a look at the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ. A man fell in the garden of Eden and God had to send Jesus in the form of another man to redeem us. We fell by a man named Adam and He reconciled us by another 'man', Jesus. There is no greater love than this that God sent His Son to die for our sins. He gave us access to be able to look up to the Heavens and shout 'Abba Father'
No man must go through the humiliation Jesus went through but He knew there was a crown waiting for Him and He knows we are worth dying for despite our sinful ways. There is no greater love than this.
The universe reminds us of the existence and power of God just as Jesus reminds us of the affectionate love God has for us that made Him allow Jesus to go through all that for us. The love as described in John 3:16 is the love that cannot be quantified and a love that cannot end.
