If you asked Crystal Palace to take a draw against Leicester City before their encounter, I believe they would have taken it. Leicester is second on the log and they have title credentials.
I know it has been a crazy season but I am enjoying every bit of it. For this match, Leicester City has themselves to blame for it. They failed to let their dominance count and they wasted too many chances to have won the match.
Leicester got a penalty early on in the 18th minute which Iheanacho took due to the absence of Jamie Vardy who dropped to the bench. His tame effort was duly saved by the goalkeeper. Shortly after that, he lost another brilliant header that could have given them the lead.
Crystal Palace did everything to grind out the result that would favour them and they did when in the 58th minute, Wilfred Zaha scored brilliantly on the back of a swift counter-attacking football. It looked as though Palace has run off with the result only for Barnes to settle it and draw Leicester level with a brilliant shot from the edge of the box. He took it expertly using the Palace players as a perfect shield.
Barnes has proven to be one of the main players for Leicester of recent as he just got off the back of scoring against Manchester United and now Crystal Palace. His goal against Palace was a show of individual brilliance and it was deserving of it.
Ayoze Perez should have nicked it on the stroke of the 4th minute of extra time but he blazed his shot wide and over.
Crystal Palace would gladly take this result as they were just fresh on the back of 7-0 mauling from Liverpool and 3-0 defeat from Aston Villa.
Leicester is still second on the log and if United wins against Wolves, United would take their place.
