Dear Nigerians,

the battle between the SARS and the mass of youths,

has gotten my heart heavy with pregnancy,

and I have to bear the pain of labour with an emergency.

Green white green was the code,

right from time immemorial; the days of old,

our fathers so cherished it, the stories of which we were told,

our mothers tied it around their necks and waists like chains of gold,

it was our pride, pleasing to the eyes and extolled.

On the first day of the tenth month in the sixties,

we danced, feasted, saying goodbye to tied fists,

as we await the newness of freedom unfold in series,

we buried our miseries and looked forward to enjoyable and adventurous moments in our redeemed land.

Little did we know, that the labour of our heroes past

has been short-lived by our new leaders,

the labour of our heroes past didn't last long,

for corruption lies on the tongues of our present leaders.

Thank you for your time.

My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.

Still me,

My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.
