Let us carefully consider the father side of Jesus and then the third part we would be able to carefully consider the link and the other parts too.
The Bible is true and God is true. He is not a man that would lie neither is He a son of man that would repent. God is never an author of confusion and He is true to His Word.
There are some hidden truths that most people don't know and this makes them question just about anything in seeking for an answer and that is fine. I believe in the authority of the Bible just as Bro. Eli Soriano has rightly said and pointed out too.
Just as we carefully examined the situation of Mary from the first part of this series that Mary might not even be a full Levite just as we have in our modern days where cousins might have different tribes based on the choice of marriage.
Matthew 1:1-16 carefully helped us to show the genealogy of the part of Jesus to erase all doubts.
Matthew 1:1-5 (NIV)
This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham:
Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,
Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,
Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,
If we all carefully read till the end, we would see that there are 14 generations to Jesus there, from Judah to David. Matthew started with calling Jesus the Son of David to indicate His royal origin, and also called Him the Son of Abraham to indicate that He was an Israelite. Using the word Son in this context is a stock phrase, in which "Son" means "Descendant" which calls to mind the promises God made to David and to of course, to the father of faith, Abraham.
Many have argued that the relationship of Mary was on the maternal side; that Mary's father was from Judah while her mother from Levi. This wasn't captured in the Bible but it only points to the points raised in the first part of this video that a child can have two different tribes with their parents and it wouldn't be wrong to refer to that child from the father's side or the mother's side.
Most people would ask, how is Jesus from the tribe of Judah if we actually claimed as written in the Bible that He is from the descendant of David.
Let us consider it carefully from Abraham.
Abraham to Isaac, Isaac to Jacob, Jacob to Judah and Tamar, Judah and Tamar to Perez, Perez to Hezron, Hezron to Ram, Ram to Amminadab, Amminadab to Nahshon, Nahshon to Salmon and Rahab, Salmon and Rahab to Boaz and Ruth, Boaz and Ruth to Obed, Obed to Jesse, Jesse to David and Bathsheba, David and Bathsheba to Solomon, Solomon to Rehoboam, Rehoboam to Abijah, Abijah to Asa, Asa to Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat to Jehoram, Jehoram to Uzziah, Uzziah to Jotham, Jotham to Ahaz, Ahaz to Hezekiah, Hezekiah to Manasseh, Manasseh to Amon, Amon to Josiah, Josiah to Jeconiah, Jeconiah to Shealtie, Shealtie to Zerubba, Zerubba to Abiud, Abiud to Eliakim, Eliakim to Azor, Azor to Zadok, Zadok to Achim, Achim to Eliud, Eliud to Eleazar, Eleazar to Matthan, Matthan to Jacob, Jacob to Joseph and finally, Joseph to Jesus.
